West Bengal Medical Counselling: NEET UG 2024 Eligibility and Quotas

West Bengal Main Computerised Counselling (WBMCC) has released the NEET UG 2024 information bulletin for MBBS and BDS admissions. Candidates must meet specific domicile and quota requirements for State Quota, Private College Management Quota, and NRI Quota seats.

  • State Quota: Candidates must be domiciled in West Bengal. Required documents include a valid Residential/Domicile Certificate. The certificate must confirm residence in West Bengal for at least 10 years, or have passed classes 10 and 12 from the state.
  • Management Quota: Open to UR/EWS candidates with a 50th percentile cut-off, and SC/ST/OBC categories with 40th percentile. No domicile certificate is needed, but merit rank is crucial.
  • NRI Quota: Separate from State and Management Quotas. Candidates must opt for NRI status or provide valid Embassy Certificates for sponsorship. OCI cardholders can also apply.
  • Caste and PwD Status: OBC A/B candidates must present valid certificates, while PwD candidates need certification from IPGMER Kolkata. EWS candidates must have a valid certificate issued after April 1, 2024.
  • Other Requirements: Includes age limits, medical fitness certificates, and a minimum percentage in the 10+2 examination. Counselling fees vary by category, and successful payment is necessary for document verification.
