The National Medical Commission (NMC) has updated its MBBS admission guidelines for the 2024-25 academic year, emphasizing compliance with the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and NEET-based selection criteria.

  • All medical colleges must follow the stipulated standards, ensuring admissions do not exceed sanctioned capacities.
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year.
    • Completion of a 10+2 qualification is required.
    • NEET-UG qualification is mandatory, with specific percentile cutoffs:
      • General: 50th percentile
      • Physically Handicapped: 45th percentile
      • SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile
  • Common Counselling: Admissions must be conducted through a common counselling system to promote fairness.
  • Online Monitoring: Colleges must submit admission details online by November 8, 2024, after which they cannot enter new data.
  • Transparency Commitment: The NMC emphasizes data accuracy, warning of strict consequences for non-compliance.
