In Tamil Nadu, 34 medical seats remain vacant after the counseling process. This includes 16 MBBS seats and 18 BDS seats under the state quota. Despite four rounds of counseling, these seats were not filled, with some students refusing allotted seats. The state has implemented stricter rules, including a ₹5 lakh security deposit for MBBS and ₹2 lakh for BDS counseling, to prevent such vacancies.
